PERSONALITY

Quietly spoken and generally very mildly tempered (unless he is wielding a WHM cane, then he is almost always on the brink of losing his head). Usually he would try to keep calm during stressful situations, he gets easily flustered. Vhaya can be easily persuaded to... anything, really, which feeds his tendency to be easily excited to try new/risky things. Ekaya was his handler before the Battle of Carteneau, but now that they have split up, Vhaya's lack of self control shines brightly at certain times. It may be because of his strict upbringing that he wants to compensate now. He begins to mellow with the subsequent activities as a Warrior of Light, to the point where, as he prepares to go back to Ishgard, he loses the reckless eagerness of a child and gains the passive dejection of an adult who has lost people dear to him. Vhaya is confused and conflicted, as it was because of his thirst for thrilling adventures that he had left his home.

Heavensward and on-- maybe he will regain his love for them with the help of his fellow Warriors of Light.

APPEARANCE

Mid-sized elezen with ordinary-ass height and weight. His ears are not as prominent as some of other elezens, but his hearing ability is not any less. Light greenish blue eyes, with a narrow scar running across his right cheek. Usually the hairstyle would stay, although he likes to experiment with colors. Currently, he is sporting a slightly wavy hairstyle dyed mint-tinted silver.

Throughout his adventure as a Warrior of Light, Vhaya gained many scars and burns. Repeated cuts while he would practice archery led to many scars and calluses on his fingers and hands. One of the more substantial marring, other than the facial one, is hidden somewhere that only Ekaya is aware of.

HISTORY: The Beginning

Vhaya was born the eldest son of the House of Lenneaux, one of the well-known stone-masonry "middle class" houses. For his teenage years, he did not starve, learned how to read, write, and was brought up to be a fitting heir to the stone-masonry. Because he was young, he did not think any of the high class and the low class and was often found playing with his peers in Brume. Because he was the heir with no brother or sister, his parents were very strict in that he only learns of stonemasonry and no other future career paths for him. Vhaya, as the good son, followed their guide and only studied stonemasonry. He was never allowed to follow his father to his job and was home-schooled by his mother and apprenticed by his father. He was about to achieve his mastery at age of 19).

As his last "test" to achieving his mastery, his father told him to assist for the current commission in Saint Reymanaud's Cathedral. Vhaya got fascinated with the amount of knowledge in the scholasticate section of the Cathedral and starts to sneak in at night to read the books there. It was during the nights in the Cathedral that Vhaya learned of other city states and the details of their histories and the current struggles against the Garlean Empire. Although he is fascinated by the stories, it feels as though they are something of a fantasy, as he is bound by his commitment and duty. Until he met a ... vagrant seeker of the sun miqo'te named Ekaya Valais.

Pre-ARR: Ishgard (Early 20s)
Ekaya's life story as a wanderer fascinated Vhaya to no end. And Ekaya, loving the attention and admiration oozing from Vhaya, spent inordinate time with him. Maybe it was the whole cliche of "opposites attract", but with Ekaya's guidance (?) Vhaya popped the small bubble of his sheltered life and bloomed into an adventure-loving Wildwood.

He became conflicted as he learned more of outside and began to notice the hierarchy and rigidity of Ishgard, the ordinary daily life. The ongoing Dragonsong War was much embedded in the culture, and it was not thrilling-- more so depressing. Vhaya wanted to taste the vibrant, unpredictable storm of a life, even if it would cost him a solid career and the Lenneaux family line. Noticing the distant looks and change in Vhaya's behaviors, his parents confronted him to cut ties with the "no-good, meddlesome boy". Ekaya and Vhaya left the city that night, traveling southeast towards Gridania.

Pre-ARR: Gridania and the Battle of Carteneau (Mid 20s)
After a long travel through the wilderness (during which Vhaya realized the merit of having an unmatched sight as a Wildwood), both arrived at Gridania. The very next day, Vhaya changed his given name to the current name. Because Ekaya assumed the role of an older brother, Vhaya was content to change his name to something that was similar to Ekaya-- easily borrowing the last initial and mixing up some alphabets. The pair did not have much hard time traveling around because of a good amount of money Vhaya took with him when he was leaving the house took care of lodging and clothing, while the collaboration of his sight and Ekaya's nimble hunter skills took care of food.

Everything seemed well and everyday was full of excitement. Ekaya introduced the shy Wildwood of many "adult" things-- drinking, gambling, fighting, cussing, and pleasure. The Seeker would chastise and reprimand at proper times but never put a leash on Vhaya; he hated it himself, so why would he do that to who he considered as a blood brother? All he would do is give some guidebook and show the possibilities.

The brief harmony lasted until the Battle of Carteneau, only a couple of years after entering the city state. Ekaya wanted to join the Twin Adders to help out the Alliance, when Vhaya wanted to hide far away from the battlefield. Ekaya considered the battle to be "an event fit for the top adventurers," when Vhaya considered the battle to be too risky. Fight broke out, tears and screams were abound, pitiful begging ensued. In the end, Ekaya angrily stomped away, leaving Vhaya to helplessly drown himself in liquor at Carline Canopy.

A Realm Reborn
5 years has passed since the Battle of Carteneau. Without his handler, Vhaya has been... enjoying whatever crossed his path, doing menial errands here and there after picking up archery (just because Ekaya had used it before). Maybe enjoying was not the best choice of word. Nothing is as exciting as it seemed before. He hasn't heard anything about a certain miqo'te since then. No time to mourn for the lost one-- trouble seems to be brewing in Gridania. With that news, Vhaya wonders if seriously helping out the city state would help him understand what his Seeker had said about "an event fit for the top adventurers." When he becomes the master archer, he would do all that Ekaya would miss out on, to live his life as exciting as Ekaya would have. It is the only way for redemption.
